Typically, full arch reconstruction of edentulous ridges require 4 to 8 implants in each arch. It’s almost impossible to get all implants in three dimensionally desired positions. The position of an implant plays a critical role in biomechanics and hence long term prognosis of the treatment. Guides used in implant surgery add accuracy and predictability. Successful guided implant workflow depends on 3D image acquisition and precise model fabrication. The contemporary process blends acquired images to existing dentition / denture to create implant specific precise guides Guided surgeries with stable and rigid metal guide enable us to have a much better control over placement and the kind of prosthesis we desire. This presentation showcases a case with a 22 month follow-up of reverse engineering at its best, wherein the prosthesis intended to be immediately loaded is ready before the implant placement. Enabling to load the implants on the day of placement. Also having the prosthesis which is reinforced with a metal inside helps to achieve rigid splinting of all the implants thus reducing the micro movements to minimum as implants osseointegrate. Planning the case on a computer gives more predictability to the whole procedure and final outcome. The chances of errors go down significantly and the end result can be visualized before making the incision. It’s time to embrace technology in order to attain better outcomes.
