More information

Influenced by an increasing demand of patient’s wishes towards all-ceramic treatment options, not only for fixed reconstructions, but also for dental implantology, ceramic implants have evolved from a footnote to a valid treatment alternative. But where do ceramic implants stand today? Do ceramic implants show biological advantages compared to titanium implants? Is there a risk of peri-implantitis? What are the prosthetic treatment options? How reliable are ceramic implants and are there any limitations in daily practice? This lecture will highlight the recent developments of ceramic implants and will also summarize the current scientific evidence of one- and two-piece ceramic implants.
