More information

With the advent of digital technology in odontology we are confronted with several challenges to solve high complexity rehabilitations, indeed, many times complexity does not always arise during prosthetic surgery but it is also complex when dealing with data binding. On the other hand, there are situations that are complex both prosthetically and surgically but not at the time of data binding, such as our case study today: I would like to show a clinical case in which two hybrids were made, with six implants per maxillary surgically guided and immediately uploaded. In this specific case there were some teeth that were pulled out during surgery, and that were later used to facilitate data linking. In digital dentistry there are three fundamental pillars used as a guide to digital work-flow, in this clinical case they are going to be explained. Among them we have: CAI: Computer Assisted Imaging – Compilation of necessary data to keep flow updated CAD: Computer Aided Design -The design itself, consisting primarily in a partially guided prosthetic design followed by a surgical one with the aim of guiding the surgery with the prosthetic design from a surgical guide. CAM: Computer Aided Manufacturing – The designer´s manufacture. On one hand, the surgical guides (printed) and on the other hand, the prosthetics (milled)
My name is Juan Ignacio Loddo, I am 30 years old. I was born on January 6, 1993 in Comodoro Rivadavia, Chubut (Patagonia region), Argentina. I completed my secondary studies at the Abraham Lincoln school at the age of 17 and went to live in Buenos Aires to study Dentistry at the El Salvador faculty. I completed my degree in 2016 and began the specialty of dentobucomaxillary prosthesis at the University of Buenos Aires and at the same time an Occlusion course with Anibal Alonso. During those 4 years I was an assistant in the chair of clinical prosthesis 2 at the University of Buenos Aires and worked at the Santiago Cofres clinic. After completing these studies, I returned to Comodoro Rivadavia to work with my father and mother, who are also dentists, and that city is where I am currently staying.
