Dr Maciej Walczak’s presentation discusses questions of hard and soft tissues regeneration around dental implants. The soft and hard tissue regenerative techniques using autografts are presented on the basis of author’s clinical cases. Digital planning of implants positions as well as implantation using surgical guide are also shown in case report. Case No 1: tooth 36 missing, horizontal bone deficiency. The bone core technique (the carrot technique) was performed, using trephane to prepare implant bed, than collected bone fragment is being used to regenerate the site. In the second stage of treatment, keratinised gingiva was restored using free gingival graft. Third stage was implant uncovering and shaping emergence profile. One year observation after loading, shows very good stability of gingiva, CBCT reveals stable bone width around the implant after regeneration. Case No 2: Loss of tooth No21, vertical and horizontal bone deficiency. Use of the Split Bone Block Technique (prof. Khoury method) in Patient after failed attempt of xenograft alveolus regeneration in the past. In the second stage implant was placed, connective tissue graft from tuberosity was used to improve volume of soft tissues, especially to restore papilla between upper left central and lateral inscisors. Roll Flap technique was used to uncover the implant. Following procedure was emergence profile forming with temporary composite crown for 3 months and long-term temporary restoration on zirconia abuttment. Control visit after 2 years presents with very satisfying profile of soft tissues and great stability of hard tissue after regeneration. CONCLUSION: Treatment using autogenous tissues of the patient utilizes his biological potential fully. Variety of techniques and their modifications give us opportunity to adapt the procedure to almost every clinical situation and design individual treatment plan for each patient. #dentalimplants #boneaugmentation #softtissueregeneration #surgicalguide #FGG #CTG # rollflap #SBB #thecarottechnique #prof.Khourymethod #Khourytechnique #papillarestoration #autografts #verticalboneloss #horizontalboneloss
I graduated from Jagiellonian University Medical College in 2012 in Cracow. Now I am attending European Master Degree In Oral Implantology (Wrocław). I completed multiple courses of e.g. prof. Fouad Khoury, dr med.dent. Snjezana Pohl, dr Ricardo Kern. I have been practising as oral surgeon for almost 9 years now. I run private company Maciej Walczak Implantology. From this level I cooperate with many dental offices as a regeneration specialist. I run surgical courses about Khoury technique and soft tissue management. I gave lectures in several dental conferences in Poland. My aspiration is becoming a surgeon with very wide spectrum of techniques to help my patients in the most effective way designed accordingly to their needs. My aim is also to teach practical surgery in the way that everyone can use it on their „Monday patient”. Privately my passion is calisthenics and sailing.
