In the anterior esthetic zone, provisional prostheses have been known to facilitate the maturation of healing tissue. The accurate morphology transfer of provisional prosthesis is critical for successful treatment outcomes. In recent years, many proposed peri-implant soft tissue contour transfer techniques have been proposed. However, not all techniques can transfer soft tissue profiles accurately. This clinical study was designed to figure out why some techniques can get accurate transferring and others cannot. We used digital impression to get soft tissue profiles at different times after the removal of restoration. Digital scan of implant-supported restoration and soft tissue profiles were merged into a united coordinate system. The discrepancy between soft tissue profiles and restoration were measured. We can conclude that the soft tissue profile collapsed immediately after restoration removal.
